Buy Drivers License Number Online – The Dark Web

Criminals use our credit card, bank account passwords and drivers license data for theft or fraudulent websites – often ending up on what’s known as the Dark Web where it can be sold illegally on black markets. NBC10 Boston Investigator Ryan Kath met Andrei Barysevich of Somerville-based cyber intelligence company Recorded Future to gain more insight into how criminals utilize this world.

The Dark Web is an unregulated online world where anyone can easily create a new identity by purchasing passports, ID cards, driving licenses, bank accounts or counterfeit cash from various services offered on it. Most often paid in cryptocurrency called Bitcoin which helps people conduct anonymous transactions; some services provide legitimate services like fixing poor grades and creating financial profiles while some might lead to legal consequences if used illegally.

People typically purchase new identities to conceal an undesirable past; whether that be from authorities or political or economic threats at home. Unfortunately, however, the cost to secure one can be high: on average counterfeit passports cost around US$710 while fake driver’s licenses in the US begin at about US$240.
