Gaining a false driver’s license in Italy may seem challenging, but with some planning and effort it can become much simpler.

Driver’s license (carta d’identita elettrica or CIE) is an Italian national identity card which can be used for travel within Europe, Switzerland and certain other countries with which Italy has agreements. It resembles a credit-card-sized plastic card equipped with an embedded microchip which stores personal details. Individuals over 70 must present an annual medical certificate to renew their licenses.
